Large Global Beverage Company – Generating Consumer-Centered Solutions using Design Thinking

Challenge:

A large global beverage company needed to define transformational store concepts to solidify its relevance with consumers 3-5 years out.  The team recognized the need for a more innovative approach to generating a pipeline of new store concepts to accelerate growth.

Solution:

Leveraged Design Thinking framework and tools to create a tailored end-to-end innovation process 

Gathered consumer insights and conducted a series of Design Thinking workshops with representatives from diverse functional areas (marketing, beverage, store design etc.) 

Integrated consumer feedback gathered online between sessions to enhance concepts 

Outlined prototyping roadmap to test hypothesizes and validate key assumptions 

Developed communication plan including leadership report outs and organizational roadshows 

Outcomes:

Established repeatable innovation process that leveraged Design Thinking methodologies

Gathered insights about the top 5 (out of 200) concepts from 250+ consumers across the nation

Presented store concepts to leadership with supporting business cases, customer journeys, and operating plans 

We leveraged Hannah for her expertise in Design Thinking.  She was an amazing partner to us throughout our innovation journey.  The Design Thinking tools and methods allowed our diverse, cross-functional team to collaborate productively even though we had never worked together before.  We are thrilled with the outcome and excited to share the work with leadership.
